Fundraiser Update

Sorry this post is a little late. Things were a little crazy last week with Jim being out of town.Wow!!! Our Zumba Party Adoption fundraiser was a huge success. We raised a little over $2,600.  Thanks so much for coming out and supporting us. Jim and I are so blessed to have so many friends and family that have supported us every step of the way as we piece together our adoption journey.. We hope that everyone had a lot of fun! A Big Thank you to Gabrielle (my Zumba Instructor) for organizing the Zumba part. Another Big Thanks to our moms' who spent a lot of time trying to get donations for the raffles!! We hope everyone had a blast!!!

Now we just continue to wait to be matched. So please continue to pray that our baby is out there and we will be matched soon. As Logan said the other day.."He is tired of waiting to be a big brother"!

I will post pictures of the event soon! Thanks again for supporting Jim & I!!!

Adoption Letter

This is a copy of our letter that we have been sending out to local business trying to get donations for our raffles for the fundraiser. We have received GREAT responses!! More details to come on what is going to be raffled off at the fundraiser.

Do you believe in miracles? My wife and I still do, we have to. After nearly five years of marriage, almost countless months of disappointments, and numerous attempts with fertility treatments, Jennifer and I have not been able to have children of our own.
I can not begin to explain our despair each month, but this is not about disappointment and hurt. It is about hopes and dreams and making them come true. Our dream is to have a family, to raise our children, to love them, teach them, and watch them grow. We now know that plan has us providing that love to children through domestic adoption.
Adoption is a miracle to those children who need and deserve a loving and caring home, and will truly be a miracle to us if we get the chance to provide that love.
Adoption is not cheap, however. On average a domestic adoption costs in excess of $25,000.00 not including any associated travel expenses. To help defray our costs, on May 6, 2011, Jennifer and I are sponsoring a Zumbathon Fundraiser at St. Joseph's Church in Cold Spring, KY. In addition to providing professional Zumba instructors we will be offering food, drinks, and raffles for our guests’ enjoyment. We are asking local businesses to donate items to our raffle, gift cards, gift baskets, or even food and drinks to this worthy cause.

Waiting, Waiting

We have been active and waiting for 9 months now!! Once you have become approved to adopt, your license is only good for a year. Our license will expire in June, which means next month we will start the process of renewing our license. What does that mean.....lots more paperwork, and more money. We keep hoping for the phone call soon that we have been matched! There are so many mixed emotions with the adoption process and the waiting is the worst!!!!!!!

Thank you!

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who has given us aluminum cans to recycle for cash. We turned in our first round this past Saturday. We recieved $245 dollars for all the cans!! We were very excited about this!! Every little bit helps with the adoption costs. We will continue to collect cans! Please let us know if you are willing to save your cans for us. THANKS!!!!
